Professional Profile:
Daniel Glad is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Since joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Glad has worked on a wide variety of corporate transactions, including: mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate finance. He has also worked on a variety of complex litigation and antitrust matters, as well as telecommunications regulatory work.

Mr. Glad has an active pro bono practice, including representing victims of domestic violence, and handling issues related to immigration court reform. Mr. Glad was an active member of the team that produced a report highlighting deficiencies in immigration adjudications, and continues to work in an advocacy role on that project.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Glad was a PILI Fellow and worked in Zagreb, Croatia, where his work focused on implementing judicial and institution reform in a post-Communist country. Mr. Glad analyzed other post-Communist countries and their transition to an EU-recognized legal standard and made recommendations on implementation. He was also involved in research related to creating a regulatory framework and educating Croatian lawyers in modern legal practices. Mr. Glad helped present research and recommendations before the Croatian Constitutional Court and symposia hosted by the University of Zagreb.

While attending the University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Glad served as an associate editor, and later as a contributing editor, of the Michigan Journal of International Law. During law school, Mr. Glad clerked in the Chambers of the Honorable Dennis Powers of the 52nd District Court, First Division.

Mr. Glad has lived and studied in Croatia, and is proficient in Croatian.
